Tuesday evening was too cloudy so I didn't visit the park. The sun is back so I'm looking forward to the next few days.

Lola on the Great Lawn, Central Park.

Palemale & Lola's nest shows a fragment of eggshell on it...

Palemale went to bed early on Monday evening in a different tree from the one he used over the last few weeks.

From where he perched he could see Lola as the light began to dwindle.

He settled on a final branch and the last protesting blue jay left him in peace.

Lola said goodnight to him and flew off to her own night roost, and when she did I was convinced that I felt a comforting silence that I know I'll be holding on to for the rest of my life.
