Re: Freedom of Information Law [FOIL] Request; New York State Department of Environmental Conservation

Dear Records Access Officer:

Under the provisions of the New York Freedom of Information Law, Article 6 of the Public Officers Law, I hereby request records or portions thereof pertaining to:

The necropsy and toxicology results of a red tailed hawk which was found dead in Central Park supposedly received by the NYS DEC Wildlife Pathology Unit in Delmar NY on or around March 1, 2012.

This female red tailed hawk known as 'LIMA' was picked up by NYSDEC Brent Wilson on or around February 27, 2012.

The red tailed hawk was supposedly sent to the NYSDEC Wildlife Pathology Unit from NYSDEC Region II in NYC.

I am requesting all documents pertaining to the work performed by the NYS DEC Wildlife Unit at the time of the receipt of this request, whether the work on this red tailed hawk is complete or not.

Please supply the records without informing me of fees if the fees for this request are not in excess of $100.00.

If for any reason any portion of my request is denied, please inform me of the reasons for the denial in writing and provide the name and address of the person or body to whom an appeal should be directed.

Thank you,
Lincoln Karim
