March 9, 2009

Palemale stands by Lola as she eats the meal he brought to her.

I believe that she has begun sitting on egg/s.

Finished eating she settles back on her nest.

Palemale left soon after and perched on the Stovepipe building until dark. I couldn't find his night roost.

Our Riverside Park Mother as her beak looked on December 6th, 2008 and 13 weeks later on March 7, 2009.

Riverside Park Mom wants to break off this branch...

She stands on the branch and prepares to put all her weight on it...

She presses down on the branch...

and down she goes with her prize. I noticed this behavior on several occasions but didn't give it enough thought until Nabil brought it to my attention.

This is quite likely to be Charlotte perched on the Essex sign. I am still not able to find her nesting site.

All images photographed last weekend.
