Houston Street baby red-tail hawk with Mom.

I know most days the pictures are not posted in any particular sequence, or even any coherent order. But that is how I go through most of my days anyway.

I don't think it matters much whether the Houston Street Mom seen here perched on this window did so before she fed her babies or after. So here she is, as beautiful as ever.

I think with red-tailed hawk babies the boys ask their mother "Ma, am I the most handsomest hawk their ever was in the whole wide world?"

But the girls ask; "Ma, when I grow up will I be as beautiful as you?"

All images photographed on Sunday June 1, 2008.

Still waiting for the test results for the last two Riverside baby hawks.

UC Davis lab results are in for the 1st retrieved baby hawk from Riverside Park:
Blood/organ samples contained lethal levels of two anti-coagulant rodenticides.
I will publish more information when I am allowed to. Please note that this information comes from just one set of test results. There are several more to be performed--bear in mind that only the pathologist can officially declare the actual cause of death in the baby hawks.
