Palemale & his mate Zena were mating (correct term is copulating but I hate using it) on the Beresford on Monday evening. This is extremely unusual at this time of the year. Mating does occur sometimes close after a successful clutch and it also occurs after a failed clutch (to have a second try). However I have never seen this behavior so long after a very successful clutch. I believe the behavior is simply celebratory for such a successful year for our beloved friends.
