December 18, 2012

I'd like to get a pad to list,
All the human friends I have,
I'll make sure there's none I missed,
The best ones' names on wood I'll carve,

When recalling I'll check and add,
To list them all by height and age.
On second thought I don't need a pad,
Just a single dog-eared page.

I'll rule the leaves so I can write,
Each name beginning at the spine,
But all I'll need to make it tight,
Is just a single lonely line.

So let me now prepare to think,
Of that only human friend of mine,
Oh no! My pen is out of ink,
But that'll do just perfectly fine.
