Both Charlie & Maggie were very active today in the fenced playground. Pale Male Jr. was also inside the playground but not too visible.

Maggie stretches earlier this evening on an oak tree near the West Drive - Wednesday August 24, 05

She joined Charlie shortly after this and both played in a tree closer to 6th Avenue - Wednesday August 24, 05

She's probably thinking 'should I make the effort to wipe that feather off my beak, or should I just let it catch the setting sunlight so that fathead could get a nice picture?'

She's not napping, just having a good scratch on the right ear - Wednesday August 24, 05

Pale Male & Lola Update

Pale Male Jr. Update

I had no luck finding any hawk big or small all evening. The light was so beautiful but no red tail showed up to model for me, at least in the few places I was able to shuttle myself within the last few evening hours...

...this Blue Jay at The Gill was no less worthy of being photographed today regardless - Tuesday August 23, 05

Could not ID this quick little one that flitted around for just a few seconds - Tuesday August 23, 05

Until the philosophy which hold humans superior and animals inferior is permanently discredited and abandoned...

...there’ll always be misery wherever this backward way of thinking is honored

Pale Male Jr. Update

Finally caught up with Ms. Lola sitting up high on the south-east Beresford tower where she can watch me trek all the way from Columbus Circle to The Museum of Nat. History. - Monday August 22, 05

A young woman told me she found this guy on her front door so she put her in a box and brought her (she referred to her as 'she') to Azalea Pond to release her - Monday August 22, 05

I never realized squirrels ate leaves. This little guy ate several in front of me - Monday August 22, 05

Pale Male Jr. Update

Here are some of the people I met while waiting for Pale Male and/or Lola to show in The Ramble - Baby robin admires a grackle coming onto a rock in The Gill - Sunday August 21, 05

Baby cardinal rests peacefully in a shrub over The Gill - Sunday August 21, 05

Charlie in The unfinished playground (shooting through the wire fence with very little light) - Sunday August 21, 05

Here is Charlotte on the 'E'. She never visits the kids it seems. She stays for hours on the various high perches along 59th Street and just never comes down to say hi to her babies; kind of sad but I trust her to be doing the right thing - Sunday August 21, 05

Grackle cools off at The Gill - Sunday August 21, 05

Maggie seen here only a few yards away from her brother. They are very much a team these two - Sunday August 21, 05

Red-Bellied Woodpecker over Azalea Pond (always double-check my bird IDs; it's just not something I'm good at) - Sunday August 21, 05

Starling takes a drink in Azalea Pond - - Sunday August 21, 05
