Washington Square parent visiting their nest on Sunday.

Washington Sq parent flying near their nest in the Village.

One of the parents of this nest was photographed on November 7th 2010 with a similar break in its right wing. I would guess that it should have healed by now.

This nesting pair of red tail hawks was written up recently and is much talked about, however as usual none of that talk makes any mention about the female from last October which had an ill-fitted band on her right leg. And most of all there was no mention in the recent news story about this nest of the thoughtless rat poisoning all around Washington Square.
